These utilities will make life with your Mac a little easier.
You can live without them, but you will wonder how after you have them.
- Paintbrush was developed for those who miss Paint on the PC. I do not understand how this type of application was left out of Leopard.
- BetterZip is just what it says, a better way to deal with zip files. Leopard comes with stuff-it, which is very primitive. BetterZip is similar in functionality to WinZip on the PC. BetterZip also includes a Quick Look Generator that lets you view the contents of compressed archives in Quick Look. BetterZip costs $20.
- Ziplight is a Spotlight plug-in that allows you to look inside zip files when you do a Spotlight search.
- Dictionary Editor allows you to easily edit the custom dictionary used in Mac applications.
- NameChanger brings name changing of files to a new level. If you dump a bunch of files and need to organize them, this application is for you.
- ChronoSync performs file and folder syncronizations and backups. This can be particularly useful for keeping multiple machines in sync. ChronoSync costs $30.
- Password assistant simply calls the Leopard Password Assistant dialog on demand.
